A Note from the Farm

Small herd. Patient horsemanship.
Horses raised the way they ought to be raised.

We’re a family operation focused on the long view — breeding to sound, proven lines, raising foals out on grass with their mothers and bandmates, and bringing them along slowly. Every horse on this page is one we know by name.

Section IAbout the Farm

Built from conviction, bred for the track.

Porta Coeli Farm was founded in 2024 in the rolling countryside of Virginia — just ninety minutes from Washington, D.C. — by an owner returning to the sport with a clear purpose: build a serious broodmare band, the right way, from the start.

In its first season, the farm carries fifteen broodmares, eleven yearlings, and four two-year-olds. Eleven mares are pregnant or have already foaled, with eleven new foals expected by season’s end and ten yearlings ready for market by September. It is a young operation moving with intention.

The mares were selected for depth of pedigree and commercial appeal. Their bloodlines reach back through some of the most influential sires in the modern game.
